Mode of Study

Blended Learning

Artisan Launcher combines different learning environments to provide learners with both technical knowledge and practical occupational competence.

Theory / Knowledge

The knowledge component may be delivered through a combination of:

  • Facilitator-led classes
  • Online learning
  • Digital learning resources
  • Self-study
  • Tutorials
  • Learner support
  • Theory assessments

Practical Training

Practical modules require physical participation at an appropriately equipped electrical training facility.

Learners must physically demonstrate their ability to perform electrical tasks safely and correctly.

Workplace Learning

The workplace component is completed within an appropriate approved workplace where learners gain exposure to actual electrical installations, equipment, maintenance and repair activities.

Practical Training

Electricians require substantial hands-on competence. Practical training therefore forms an essential part of the programme.

Learners may work with equipment and systems including:

  • Electrical hand and power tools.
  • Test instruments.
  • Electrical conductors and cables.
  • Distribution equipment.
  • Electrical protection devices.
  • Electrical circuits.
  • Wireways and containment systems.
  • Electrical motors and rotating machinery.
  • Control circuits and systems.
  • Switching equipment.
  • Low-voltage electrical systems.

Practical training focuses on developing safe working habits, accuracy, problem-solving ability and the ability to perform electrical work according to prescribed procedures.

What You Will Learn

Throughout the programme, learners develop competence in:

  • Electrical Fundamentals

Understand electrical principles, electricity and electronics and how electrical systems operate.
